MXMLLN’s Top 10 Goals for the Eclectic Artist

I know what I want from my life, at least the rest of it. I want to have my own business, create a charity, and go into politics. Above all else, I would like to finish my life’s work, my book. If I don’t though, I do think I have had a lot of great living so far. For my first 3 decades, my main concern was experiencing love in a long-term relationship. With that now accomplished twice over, as well a few minor contributions in Academia, some art projects, and a lot of travelling, I could honestly die today without any regrets.

I don’t have a bucket-list: A bucket-list implies that everything should be done by death. Oddly, a quick search for the definition of a “bucket-list”, taught me that I’ve already done at least a third of what others are trying to do before they die. What follows is a wishlist: Nothing needs to be done and I’m certainly not going to stress about any of it. Nevertheless, if there is time I would like to complete my Top 10 list and much more.

The Critique of Judgment

How many hours of television have you watched? Yes, that includes streaming, anything that traditionally would be watched on a television. Dramas, if you will. How many YouTube videos have you watched? How many movies? How many books have you read? How many hours have you played games? How many musicians have you heard? How many buildings have you been in? How many pictures and illustrations have you seen? I have a lot of this data. Most of it can be found in the social icons on the Contact page.

What do you do with all this data? In some ways, you are that data: You are all your reviews. You’ve probably encountered people that have nothing nice to say about any of the media they consume. I’m afraid I’m one of these people. But who am I to judge someone else’s work? Does it benefit anyone that I have read a recent Hugo Award winning, science-fiction novel and I thought it was terrible? I’ve been holding back a bit more on my reviews as I have started to write myself. When you finally “try to put your money where your mouth is”, you will have earned the right to judge.

Creation is an amazing experience. It not only empowers your right to judge the work of others, but it is one of the few opportunities to utilize all the data you’ve acquired in life. Are you an optimist that wants to demonstrate the unity of life on Earth? Art and politics are your most direct ways of making a marked difference with your short life in the Alpha quadrant.

Awesome. I think there’s not such thing as being too ambitious. You can’t help but like the things that you do.
It’s so good that you have Identified what resonates within you and what motivates you. A lot of people don’t even know what they want.
